Please Don’t Drool On The Books When You See This

Today while browsing the “books” tag of blogs, I came across a post on Two Muffins In An Oven about bookshelf porn.  I kid you not.

While there are no nudes or risque *ahem* activities, book lovers will definitely get a lot of pleasure from this website.

Bookshelf Porn is a collection of amazing photos of bookshelves, libraries, bookstores, and other bookshelf-related things from across the world.  It’s impossible to count how many pictures there are, but you can keep scrolling down the page for a while without running out of pictures or getting bored.

Here are a few of my favorites:

^Jay (the boyfriend), this last picture goes out to you 😉

I hope you all enjoyed these pictures (and many more at Bookshelf Porn) as much as I did.  I also followed them on Twitter, so check them out there too.

I’ve posted once or twice about it, but for those who haven’t seen yet — I now have a Twitter account @booksandboston.  I’ll be Tweeting when new posts are updated, so follow me for another way to stay updated with my blog.  Also, I’m hosting a giveaway which you can sign up for here.  Check it out!

  1. These pics are worth drooling over, very lovely. I’m on my way to check out the book ‘porn’ site now. What a great tease!
    Enjoy always, T

I love them! Although, the last picture, I’d be tidying up the books rather than reading. Can’t relax in cluttered chaos! I really like the third picture. Someday I’ll have a room with huge bookshelves and my books displayed. Someday.

The last picture with the cluttered bookshelves is pretty much how my bookshelves look at the moment. I have several bookshelves in my room, and they are all cluttered with tons of stuff on them pretty much piled however it will fit (not just books mind you, DVD cases, CD cased, videogames, as well as binders from my classes in college).

I also love the first picture. I would love to have a room like that with a massive bookshelf and a fireplace to read by, I don’t know if I’d ever leave my house with all those books to read.

Yeah, the fireplace is what got me about the picture. It just seems so nice and cozy to curl up in a comfy chair with a book by a fire. It would be very hard to leave though, especially during these cold winter months!

My room is getting extremely cluttered with books. It’s not that big, since I’m still in an apartment at school, but I keep bringing more books up from home (and buying more). I’m running out of places to put them so there’s just tons of piles everywhere, eek. Can’t wait til I have a bigger place with more bookshelves =)

Some day I’ll have my own library with floor-to-ceiling shelves, and I’ll just live there! I love these pictures you shared and can’t wait to check out Book Porn! I have a book in my shelves called “At Home with Books,” (Ellis and Seebohm) that I flip through pretty often. It has some great photos of at-home libraries and keeps me dreaming.

    • Michelle says:

Ooh that sounds great. I’d love to have a big library someday with floor to ceiling shelves made out of dark mahogany wood, a few big comfy leather chairs, a fireplace, a big window and window seat, and a nice desk for when I have to do work. I’ll keep dreaming til I get it 🙂

beautiful books and beautiful settings – public and personal libraries are spaces to fill your mind with inspiration – i now imagine all of the adventure, mysteries, discoveries, and the life-long characters i’ll find hidden in the tiny shell of my ebook reader! i keep it dusted well and always close by 🙂

    i enjoy browsing here!

Wow! Thanks for sharing this! I’d love to have so much books and a nice library like one of these 🙂 I don’t mind spending money for books, they are our treasure.

    • Michelle says:

I’m glad you liked them! 🙂 Hope you didn’t drool too much 😉 be sure to check out the site I linked to – there’s even more great pictures! I feel the same way about books. Definitely worth the money.
