Bieber Hater Succumbs to Bieber Fever

It’s official.  I’ve caught the Bieber fever.  I hated Bieber – his instant popularity, his awful pop songs that repeat the same word over and over again (how many times can you say Baby?), his crazy fan base, and the way he seems to flaunt his wealth and fame.  The only thing I didn’t hate was his haircut, since my brother rocks a really similar one.  I do feel bad for all the hate he gets, though.

But now, I might actually…gulp…respect Justin Bieber, a little.  It’s hard to admit.

Justin Bieber recently rapped on Power106 radio station.  Yes, it’s possible it was written before the broadcast, but wow – this kid has skills! If he actually starts rapping instead of singing his whiny pop songs I might actually admit to liking him…nah, that’ll never happen.

Also, if you haven’t heard the recent news, Bieber has been accused of fathering a child to a 19 year-old woman when he was 16.  I wonder how Selena Gomez, Bieber’s girlfriend, is taking this news.  This rap stunt was obviously a publicity stunt to draw attention away from this rumor and it looks like it worked!

Check out this sweet rhythm and rhymes.

Music and Motion

This morning I’m listening to Her Morning Elegance by Oren Lavie. I absolutely love this song.  Also, it has the most amazing music video – a complex construction of many, many single frame captures.  This is a stop-motion animation.  It became really popular a couple years ago, but if you still haven’t seen it you need to check it out.

This got me thinking about other songs that have stop-motion music videos.  Another one I like that uses stop-motion animation is Regina Spektor’s “Us”.  You might notice a quote from this song as the tagline of my blog.

This next one “Lost Things”.  The music is “Sleepwalking”, a relatively unknown song by A Fine Frenzy.  It’s pretty cool – check it out!

Anyone know of other cool stop-motion videos?
